(b. San Antonio, USA, 1963). He lives and works in New York City.
Diaz received his MA in curatorial studies from Bard College, New York and received his BFA from the University of Texas at Austin. In 1995, he founded Sala Diaz in his living room in downtown San Antonio, which has become an exhibition space with an international reputation for embracing experimental art practices. Using ready-made materials such as fluorescent light fixtures, pop art icons, Diaz evokes the works of Dan Flavin, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock, and other Modernist masters with a decidedly banal and humorous twist. Diaz’ work will often combine seemingly disparate elements, juxtaposing "high" and "low" cultures - the sort of "rasquache" aesthetic that points to his Latino identity and upbringing.

His solo-exhibitions include shows at: Jessica Murray Projects, Brooklyn; The Fuller Art Museum, Brockton, MA; ArtPace, San Antonio; and The Bemis Center for the Arts, Omaha. His group shows:
