In response to her invitation to take part in the project, Buck also produced this series of six embroideries as a tool to make a contact between Ecuador and her work. The artist asked an Ecuadorian friend to describe her and one of her works - on the phone - to local embroiderers, who then interpreted the description using the tools of their craft. Using the logic of site-specific work, Buck transferred the story of her work to Quito and lent it to different possible interpretations. By so doing, the artist questions the possibility of translating an artwork into a different context.
